Guest-first use and optional account
CityTrace can be used in a guest-first experience. Some personal features use an optional account authenticated by email one-time code. When signed in, account-linked information may include the account identifier and the content or activity you choose to save.
Location
CityTrace uses location only while you are actively using location-aware features. Approximate foreground location may be used for nearby discovery. Precise location is requested only when a feature needs it, such as an explicit verified check-in. CityTrace does not require background location and is not designed to build a continuous location-history profile.
Verified check-ins
When you choose to check in, the app may send the current precise coordinates to the service so the check-in can be verified against the place location. Raw check-in coordinates are intended for transient verification rather than long-term location-history storage. The resulting visit/check-in record can remain associated with your account until it is deleted.
Account-linked activity
Depending on the features you use, CityTrace may store account-owned items such as saved places, visits or check-ins, feedback, and private service audit metadata needed to operate and secure those features.
Security and service providers
CityTrace uses cloud services to authenticate users, store app data and operate the service. Google Play Integrity may also be used to help protect genuine app requests and reduce abuse. Access controls are designed so account-owned records are available only to authorized users and service operations.
Export and deletion
Signed-in users can request a portable export of account data and permanently delete their CityTrace account through the app. An external deletion route is also available at mobisprig.com/citytrace/delete-account/.
Retention
Account-owned active data is kept while it is needed for the feature or account. When an account is permanently deleted, account-owned saved places, visits/check-ins, feedback and related private records are deleted or disassociated as applicable, except for limited information that may need to be retained for security, fraud prevention, legal obligations or dispute handling.
Your choices
You can choose whether to create an account, whether to use location-aware features, whether to perform a check-in, and whether to save account-linked activity. Android permission controls can be used to change location access at any time.
